About the role
As a Founder Partnerships Lead working remotely from South Africa, you will lead founder partnership initiatives and manage strategic relationships with high-growth startup founders across the UK and international markets. You will be responsible for developing founder partnership strategies, managing key relationships with founders, and driving growth through strategic partnerships with founders.
Day to day, you'll be identifying and developing strategic founder partnerships, managing relationships with high-growth startups, coordinating founder success programmes, and working with internal teams to ensure founder partner success. This role requires strong strategic thinking and a deep understanding of startup ecosystems.
Working pattern and flexibility
This is a senior role available as full-time, fully remote from South Africa. You'll work closely with our London headquarters team through structured communication and regular video calls. Core collaboration hours align with South African mornings (UK afternoons) for optimal team interaction. Time tracking software is required for security and progress monitoring.
Leadership trajectory
This is a leadership role with opportunities to advance to Senior Manager or Principal-level positions. You'll manage founder partnership strategies and may lead a team of partnership professionals. Exceptional performers will have opportunities for UK visa sponsorship and potential relocation to our London office.
What you will be doing
Develop and execute founder partnership strategies for high-growth startups.
Identify, evaluate, and engage strategic founder partnership opportunities.
Manage relationships with key founder partners and ensure their success.
Lead founder partnership programme development and execution.
Collaborate with internal teams to develop founder-specific solutions and programmes.
Monitor founder partnership performance and identify opportunities for growth.
Represent GoGorilla at startup events and founder community meetings.
Mentor junior founder partnership team members.
What you will bring
University degree with 3-5 years of experience in partnerships, business development, or startup ecosystems.
Proven track record in founder relationship management and startup partnerships.
Excellent English communication and relationship management skills for interactions with founders.
Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities.
Deep understanding of startup ecosystems and founder challenges.
Right to work in South Africa with a reliable high-speed internet connection.
Leadership potential and ability to work independently across time zones.

Compensation and progression
Base salary: R45,000 to R55,000 per month (full-time).
Currency options: Choose to be paid in ZAR, USD, GBP, or a combination.

30-60-90 day expectations
Day 30 – Complete onboarding, understand the founder ecosystem, and develop a partnership strategy.
Day 60 – Successfully initiate strategic founder partnerships and demonstrate ecosystem knowledge.
Day 90 – Consistently drive founder partnership growth and lead strategic initiatives.
Probation and performance framework
6-month probation period with monthly performance reviews and clear success metrics.
Performance thresholds: Must achieve founder partnership targets to progress beyond probation.
Benefits eligibility: Full benefits package is available after successful completion of probation.
Equipment policy: Company equipment must be returned if employment ends during the probationary period.
