About the role
As a 3D Lighting and Rendering Specialist working remotely from South Africa, you will create high-quality 3D lighting setups and rendered visuals for UK and international client campaigns. You will work closely with our London creative team to develop photorealistic renders and lighting solutions that enhance campaign performance and visual impact.
Day-to-day, you'll create 3D lighting setups, produce high-quality renders, collaborate with creative teams on visual concepts, and ensure all rendered output meets performance marketing standards. This role leverages South African technical expertise in 3D lighting and rendering technologies.
Working pattern and flexibility
This is a specialist role available as full-time or part-time, fully remote from South Africa. You'll work closely with our London headquarters team through structured communication and regular video calls. Core collaboration hours align with South African mornings (UK afternoons) for optimal creative collaboration. Time tracking software is required for security and progress monitoring.
Leadership trajectory
This is a specialist role with opportunities to advance to Senior Technical Creative roles or Creative Technology Lead positions. You'll start by managing individual rendering projects, with the chance to progress to leading technical creative initiatives and mentoring other specialists within 18-24 months based on performance. Exceptional performers will have opportunities for UK visa sponsorship.
What you will be doing
Create sophisticated 3D lighting setups for various campaign visuals and client projects.
Produce high-quality photorealistic renders for digital marketing campaigns.
Collaborate with creative teams to develop visual concepts and technical solutions.
Optimize rendering workflows and maintain quality standards across all output.
Manage multiple rendering projects simultaneously while meeting tight deadlines.
Stay current with advances in 3D lighting and rendering technology, as well as best practices.
Contribute to technical process improvement and workflow optimisation.
Support other creative team members with technical expertise and rendering guidance.
What you will bring
University degree or equivalent qualification in 3D Graphics, Computer Graphics, or related technical field.
2-4 years of experience in 3D lighting and rendering production.
Proficiency in industry-standard software (Maya, 3ds Max, V-Ray, Arnold, etc.).
Strong portfolio demonstrating 3D lighting and rendering capabilities.
Excellent English communication skills for technical collaboration with UK teams.
Right to work in South Africa with a reliable high-speed internet connection.
Technical expertise and attention to detail in visual quality and rendering optimisation.

Compensation and progression
Base salary: R40,000 to R50,000 per month (full-time), with pro-rata adjustments for part-time.
Currency options: Choose to be paid in ZAR, USD, GBP, or a combination.
Performance bonuses: Technical creative success bonuses based on project quality (available after 6-month probation).
Company profit-sharing: Participation in overall company success (eligible after probation completion).
Equity: Meaningful equity participation for high performers (considered after 12 months).

30-60-90 day expectations
Day 30 – Complete onboarding, understand technical creative processes, and begin first rendering projects.
Day 60 – Successfully deliver high-quality technical creative work and demonstrate rendering expertise.
Day 90 – Consistently produce excellent rendered output and contribute to campaign visual success.
Probation and performance framework
6-month probation period with monthly performance reviews and clear success metrics.
Performance thresholds: Must achieve technical quality and delivery targets to progress beyond probation.

Equipment policy: Company equipment must be returned if employment ends during the probationary period.
