About the role
As a Client Strategy Lead working remotely from South Africa, you will lead client strategy development and manage strategic relationships with UK and international clients. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive client strategies, leading the execution of these strategies, and managing client relationships to drive performance and growth.
Day to day, you'll be developing client strategies, managing strategic client relationships, leading strategy implementation initiatives, and working with cross-functional teams to ensure client success. This role requires strong strategic thinking and leadership skills to drive client performance and satisfaction.
Working pattern and flexibility
This is a senior role available as full-time, fully remote from South Africa. You'll work closely with our London headquarters team through structured communication and regular video calls. Core collaboration hours align with South African mornings (UK afternoons) for optimal team interaction. Time tracking software is required for security and progress monitoring.
Leadership trajectory
This is a leadership role with opportunities to advance to Senior Manager or Principal-level positions. You'll manage client strategy portfolios and may lead strategy teams. Exceptional performers will have opportunities for UK visa sponsorship and potential relocation to our London office.
What you will be doing
Develop comprehensive client strategies and strategic plans for key accounts.
Lead client strategy implementation and performance optimisation initiatives.
Manage strategic relationships with key clients and stakeholders.
Coordinate cross-functional teams to deliver client strategy and success.
Monitor client performance and identify strategic opportunities for growth.
Lead client strategy reviews and strategic planning sessions.
Represent GoGorilla in senior-level client discussions and strategic meetings.
Mentor junior client strategy team members and contribute to team development.
What you will bring
University degree with 3-5 years of experience in client strategy, consulting, or related strategic roles.
Proven track record in strategic planning and client relationship management.
Excellent English communication and strategic thinking skills for senior client interactions.
Strong analytical and leadership capabilities.
Experience with strategic planning methodologies and client success frameworks.
Right to work in South Africa with a reliable high-speed internet connection.
Leadership potential and ability to work independently across time zones.

Compensation and progression
Base salary: R45,000 to R55,000 per month (full-time).
Currency options: Choose to be paid in ZAR, USD, GBP, or a combination.
Performance bonuses: Significant client success bonuses (available after 6-month probation).
Company profit-sharing: Participation in overall company success (eligible after probation).
Equity: Meaningful equity participation for high performers (considered after 12 months).

30-60-90 day expectations
Day 30 – Complete onboarding, understand the client portfolio, and develop a strategic approach.
Day 60 – Successfully led the first client strategy initiative and demonstrated strategic thinking.
Day 90 – Consistently drive client strategy success and lead strategic initiatives.
Probation and performance framework
6-month probation period with monthly performance reviews and clear success metrics.
Performance thresholds: Must achieve client strategy leadership targets to progress beyond probation.
Benefits eligibility: Full benefits package is available after successful completion of probation.
Equipment policy: Company equipment must be returned if employment ends during the probationary period.
