About the role
As Head of Platform Engineering, you will be a key leader in our engineering organisation. You will be responsible for leading the team that designs, builds, and maintains our marketing technology stack. This is a highly technical and strategic role that offers the opportunity to work on a unique and complex set of problems at the intersection of software engineering, DevOps, and marketing technology.
Day-to-day, you'll lead a team of platform engineers, set technical direction, and ensure the reliability and scalability of our platform. This role requires a deep understanding of software engineering principles, a passion for building and leading high-performing teams, and a desire to build a world-class engineering platform.
Working pattern and flexibility
This is a senior leadership role with a high degree of flexibility. You can choose to work from our central London office or adopt a hybrid approach. We trust you to manage your own time and deliver against your objectives. Time tracking is not required for this role.
Executive impact
You'll operate at the executive level with direct influence on our technology strategy and platform development that powers our FinTech approach. Your technical leadership will shape how GoGorilla scales its platform capabilities, with authority to drive major technology investments and architectural decisions. This role offers substantial equity participation and the opportunity to build world-class engineering capabilities that become our core competitive advantage. You'll work directly with the leadership team on product strategy, technology roadmap, and platform innovation while establishing new industry standards for marketing technology infrastructure.
What you will be doing
Lead the team that designs, builds, and maintains our marketing technology stack.
Set technical direction and ensure the reliability and scalability of our platform.
Recruit, hire, and mentor a team of high-performing platform engineers.
Collaborate with our data scientists, analysts, and product managers to understand their needs and build solutions that meet them.
Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and techniques in software engineering and DevOps.
What you will bring
A strong background in software engineering or a related field.
Expertise in building and leading high-performing engineering teams.
Proficiency in a programming language like Python, Go, or Java.
Experience with a variety of technologies, such as AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform.

Compensation and progression
Base salary: £110,000 to £130,000 (London), with adjustments for other UK locations (£100,000 to £120,000).
On-target performance bonus: Significant performance bonuses and success-sharing opportunities.
Company profit-sharing: Participation in overall company success.

30-60-90 day expectations
Day 30 – complete onboarding, learn our technology stack, and begin building relationships with your team.
Day 60 – take ownership of your team's roadmap and begin contributing to our engineering strategy.
Day 90 – consistently delivering high-impact results through your team and demonstrating clear leadership impact.
